Crepuscular Activity typically refers to the routine and behaviour of beings during twilight, dawn and dusk. The colors, juxtaposed between vast emptiness, depict sentiments of restlessness and melancholy; yet holding its own to find footing within.

Danielle Poon is a Singaporean multidisciplinary artist working across mixed-media object-making, painting and photography. Her explorations begin with observations on the uncanny; drawing from natural and psychological phenomena, then presenting them through a repertoire of eclectic colours and process-driven techniques. She is keen in creating art which functions as vessels for growth and healing. Danielle is a recipient of the 2022 Talent Prize Award, 2020 Ngee Ann Young Promising Artist Award, and was one of the finalists in the Angelico Art Exhibition in 2016 and 2018. Artist Statement: At the core of my artistic practice lies a deep exploration of craft techniques that bridge the traditional and contemporary. I employ a diverse range of mediums, including epoxy resin, clay, printmaking and paints, each mindfully selected for its unique expressive potential. These materials become the building blocks through which I translate the intricacies of emotion into tangible art objects. My inspiration is drawn from the tapestry and profound beauty of the everydayness. I am captivated by the subtleties of the human experience and the phenomena that shape our emotional landscapes. Through my art, I aim to dismantle the facades surrounding fragility, inviting viewers to confront the depth of their emotions and find solace in the shared human experience of brokenness. The central focus of my current practice revolves around the emotive and semantic qualities of patterns. Delving into the symbolism inherent in shapes and forms, I seek to create a visual language that transcends the limitations of verbal expression. Motifs and shapes become a means of communication, a silent dialogue that resonates on an emotional and intuitive level. A pivotal aspect of my work lies in the transformation of small art objects into restorative spaces. Meticulously crafted, these art objects serve as more than aesthetic artefacts. They grow into sanctuaries for the mind, offering a moment of respite, emotional regulation; a vessel for containing complex feelings. Through the tangible and tactile nature of these objects, viewers are invited to immerse themselves in a sensorial experience that transcends the visual. My artistic vision is anchored in the continuous exploration of the intersection between materiality, symbolism, and the emotional intricacies of the human experience.
