A friend of mine met her partner in Oaxaca recently. As it usually happens this new relationship came to be more important than other relationships and I did not see her much after that. She is thinking on leaving Oaxaca now to follow her love to some less charming place. I invited her to my house, to come along with her new partner but she never accepted the invitation. So I never got to meet him. So, it is this kind of relationship where you don't introduce your boyfriend to your friends. Kinda sad don't you think? So, he is hidden. While Mexico still is the most magical place in the world and the river of conciousness slowly carries different perspectives to the topic of relationships. In Chile we call "pololo o polola" the people in a relationship before they become established as a couple. And a pololo is also a bumble bee. I see this insect everyday in my studio which is made of carrizo a sort of bamboo where this sweet harmless thing is busy building his apartment. or something, not sure what he does inside the hollow sticks. This is small painting and it makes no sense to roll it on a tube. I will make a nice sturdy box and you will be able to hang it when you receive it, no fuss with framing.

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion.
