Original text from my Instagram post. SNOW STORM DREAMS. It's been exactly a week since I returned home from my expedition to Bolivia, but practically every night I've woken up out of nowhere without knowing exactly where I am. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night believing I'm in the tent and have to get ready quickly to start going up or down. I've caught myself trying to arrange the blanket like it was a sleeping bag. I think the fact that I almost froze one night at Nevado Sajama didn't do me much good... In any case, in "Snow Storm Dreams" there is obviously a looser style of painting that, based on some of my previous works, refers to the idea of dreams. As the name says, this is a work based on a snowstorm, more specifically one that marked me in the final meters of Illimani Mountain. Despite the initial confusion - after all we saw only a few ahead and the wind forced us to almost lie down at first - there was no sense of being caught completely off guard. Before leaving for the summit a series of decisions were made and we decided to take a risk, but the distant lightning and the image of being above the clouds will never be forgotten. Today it is almost poetic that the mountain has reserved this "surprise" almost at the finish line of the top. It was a beauty of a "not today my friend". Much was thought in the moments before the return, and this is in a way what is marked in this work, which has as a differentiated feature a large relief work and spots partially covered by "snow", as representations of the numerous alternatives that were quickly swept away. In the end, always superimposed even in the face of great challenges, bananas and strawberries embody the spirit I brought to this expedition, consolidated not only in conquests, but also in difficult decisions that needed wisdom and humility to be taken. Later on, I'm thinking about telling this story itself better, but I hope that this work will be able to illustrate at least part of it. Eric
