The magic of the garden excites your soul and elevates your self and lets you soar above the blooms. This artwork is about beautiful memories of visiting the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, enjoying its beauty and sharing its magnificent energy. I love this garden and enjoy visiting at any time of year. I explored a variety of materials to transport me into the floral fantasy of the garden: paper, cardboard, textiles, beads and wire. I used various techniques to explore my ideas, i.e. weaving, embroidery, painting, and sculpting. This sculpture is lightweight and hangs on two pushpins on the wall. I wanted it to be a floral cloud and a child's toy, an ice cream cone and a sculptural park that I recently saw in the Jardin des Plantes. My kind of joy, this artwork is playful and effervescent, evoking lightness and femininity, just like my favourite memories of this magical place. This artwork will be shipped folded in layers of bubblewrap and packaged in cardboard box.

Poetry, music, rebellion, femininity, humour and wonder of my world reveal themselves in images, both soft and hard, always mysterious, always in layers of meaning. My stories emerge like flowers opening up their petals, one at a time, as I try to bring to light all the facets of a certain moment in time, of a beautiful memory. But in the end, or in the beginning, it's all about love. I explore painting as a connection to our human vulnerability, of which love is its ultimate manifestation. https://www.instagram.com/gone_with_chinook/
