Once in Tashkent, you are amazed to see yourself among a solid, purely Italian garden, in the dense greenery of which one-story, mostly neatly and not without taste, light-colored stone houses are drowning. In the evening, even an old-timer does not easily navigate the city: with the weak light of kerosene lanterns absorbed by the dense foliage, barely flickering in the dark southern night, all the streets look like one another: this is all-wide, straight, mostly shossed (however, poorly shossed!) alleys, and on both sides of each of them, feeding on water from small ditches running right there, densely planted trees stand in two rows. And what trees!.. Giant pyramidal poplars, ailanthus, with their huge feather-shaped leaves and racemes of yellowish-white or red seed wings, apricot, mulberry, a spreading plane tree, or sycamore, here and there tuya, Adam's tree with pointed large leaves and long, narrow pods, and amazing elm trees, with their thick Google Tarjimon
